Marcus Doyle's landscape photographs are concerned with environments that have been altered and exploited by man. His images display the scars of human interaction without people being present in the frame. His landscapes explore the places that are often overlooked. His night photography reveals an atmospheric world, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and hyper real. Doyle's images are often the result of a long, patient process waiting for the correct light in which to capture a scene. This can takes hours or even days to achieve just one photograph. His use of colour - coupled with a keen eye for detail - gives Doyle's work a moving and timeless quality from the most unlikely places. Through the years there have been many images of Battersea power station taken, though none that look like Doyle’s. With his trademark attention to detail and colour, the image balances the serene blues of the background with yellow-oranges of the foreground. Battersea power station itself looms in the background, like a ghost or spirit, while below it we see the abstract shapes of sculpted hedges. The fluidity of the sky’s colours contrasts the ridged shadows of the steps around the hedges.Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer.
