Marcus Doyle's landscape photographs are concerned with environments that have been altered and exploited by man. His images display the scars of human interaction without people being present in the frame. His landscapes explore the places that are often overlooked. His night photography reveals an atmospheric world, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and hyper real. Doyle's images are often the result of a long, patient process waiting for the correct light in which to capture a scene. This can takes hours or even days to achieve just one photograph. His use of colour - coupled with a keen eye for detail - gives Doyle's work a moving and timeless quality from the most unlikely places. A study of the great American expanse, the image depicts a barren desert scene. Mountains dominate a horizon with its sun setting; the sky’s painted with orange and purples.
