DESCRIPTION:

Very rare and early large plate photograph from Anderson. Title written in period ink and Spithover blind stamp on recto of mount. Trajan's column was erected in A.D. 106 to 113 in honor of emperor Trajan. It was located at the then just completed Trajan forum and surrounded by buildings. The column commemorates his victories in Dacia (now Romania). The Trajan column including its base is 42 meters high (138 ft.). This was exactly the height of the hill that stood at this site. It had been leveled to create an open space for the construction of Trajan's Forum. Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
