Prints, especially large ones from this series, by Ubac are extremely scarce. This print had remained in the Ubac estate until auctioned. A similar one, but slightly smaller, sold in the Breton sale in Paris in 2003 for a hammer price of 95,000 euro, plus the premium. I think this one the equal to or better than that one. Christian Bouqueret, who produced the Catalogue Raisonne for Ubac, once told me that this image was the very best in the estate.
